The Circulating Body reflects a Japanese understanding that all beings exist within nature’s continuous flow. Inspired by a stag’s skull found returning to the earth, the work considers life not as a linear progression, but as circulation. In a Shinto-influenced view of nature, life and death are not separate; all share the same ground of existence. What falls returns, and what returns nourishes. Bone and skin are not opposites, but part of the same cycle—forms that dissolve, transform, and continue.
この作品は、あらゆる存在が自然の連続した流れの中にあるという、日本的な自然観を映し出している。森で大地へと還りつつあった雄鹿の頭骨との出会いを契機に、本作は生命を直線的な進行ではなく、循環として捉える視点を示す。神道的自然観において、生と死は分断されたものではなく、すべてが同じ存在の基盤を共有している。落ちたものは還り、還ったものは次の生命を養う。骨と肌は対立するものではなく、同じ循環の中にある。形はほどけ、変化しながら、なお巡り続けていく。
